Amber Dodson

Appointed in 2020 by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, Amber Dodson serves as Director of the New Mexico Film Office. Dodson spearheads the state’s efforts to grow the film, television, and digital media production business of New Mexico, oversees the state’s competitive film incentive program, leads the marketing and promotion of New Mexico as a premier production hub, recruits productions and businesses to the state, and drives workforce development initiatives including the New Mexico Media Academy (NMMA). Under Dodson’s leadership at the NMFO and previously the Albuquerque Film Office, three New Mexico cities have been ranked by Moviemaker Magazine as “The Best Place to Live and Work” and unprecedented records in production spend have been achieved. Prior to her roles in the New Mexico film industry, Dodson cut her teeth working in production in Los Angeles, business development for entertainment-focused tech start-ups, and marketing for a Fortune 500 media corporation.
