Gina Black
Gina started her screen career as a performer, then became a Theatrical Agent in the West End of London. Her sense of adventure brought her to Australia where she worked for Crawford Productions in Melbourne, first in Casting and then in Physical Production. After several years, she ventured into the freelance world as a Production Manager and Line Producer, which took her to Queensland where she worked on numerous offshore screen productions for many international studios including Paramount Pictures, Lorimar-Telepictures, Universal Studios, Warner Bros., Walt Disney Studios, 20th Century Studios and Sony Pictures Entertainment.
In the past 12 years, Gina has used her expertise in both State and Local Government in various senior roles including Executive Vice President of Production & Incentives, Head of Production Attraction, Head of Physical Production, Screen Industry Advisor and Film Commissioner, to attract productions to film in Queensland and connect key creatives to work with internationally recognised local crew and businesses.
Gina is a Certified Film Commissioner with the AFCI (Association of Film Commissioners International) and serves on their Board of Directors.
In 2023, Gina received the “Gold Coast Screen Industry Professional of the Year” Award for her services to the screen industry.
