Ruriko Sekine is Secretary General of the Japan Film Commission and Vice President of AFCNet.

Born and raised in Nagasaki, Japan, she spent nearly ten years in Michigan, United States, before returning to Japan to begin her career as a film commissioner. She served as Nagasaki Prefectural Film Commissioner for five years, supporting domestic and international productions.

In 2008, she relocated to Tokyo to help establish the Japan Film Commission. With more than 20 years of experience at both regional and national levels, she continues to promote Japan as a filming destination and to support international collaboration across Asia.
